We asked you to help us reach our goal for Homecoming and you delivered! Wow!
Your generosity has exceeded our expectations (as Yotes tend to do!) and we are so grateful. You helped us reach our goal of fixing the clock tower 15 days early and the repair process is already starting!
However, there is still work to do! You would think the computer that controls the clock tower would actually be inside the clock tower itself, right? Nope! The 1989 computer that controls the clock tower is located in the basement of Sterry Hall, and the wires run underground between the two structures! During the repair process, crews will have to tear up the landscaping between the tower and Sterry Hall to update or replace the wiring.
[To see pictures of the "vintage" computer and the cassettes that ran the bells, see below.]
If we can raise an additional $3,000, we will be able to replace the landscaping around the clock tower and Sterry Hall after the repairs are completed. This additional funding will make a big difference in making our campus beautiful again after construction is finished! If you've already donated to our project, please continue to share it! If not, please consider supporting The College of Idaho — even a little donation helps make big things happen.”
